About the Principal - Our Experience

Edward L. Miano, SRA is the President and Senior Appraiser of Atlantic Appraisal Associates. 

Mr. Miano has been appraising professionally for over twenty-three years.  He is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute and currently holds an SRA designation.  He was one of the youngest members to receive that designation in Massachusetts.  Mr. Miano is certified as a General Appraiser in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In addition, he holds a temporary certified General License in Rhode Island.   Mr. Miano also holds a Massachusetts Real Estate Brokers License as well as a Construction Supervisors License (typically referred to as a General Contractor) and is well versed in building construction methods and materials. 

Mr. Miano has been court qualified in many of the courts in the Commonwealth and has testified as an expert in numerous cases relating to Real Property matters.  He is a recognized expert in the following Courts; Middlesex Probate, Norfolk Probate Court, Norfolk Superior Court, Suffolk Probate Court, Suffolk District Court, Bristol District Court, Barnstable Probate Court, Worcester Probate Court, and Federal Bankruptcy Court. In addition, he has been qualified at the Appellate Tax Board and has appeared at numerous ZBA and Conservation hearings as a real estate expert.

Mr. Miano has experience in many markets, performing appraisal and or consulting services in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Texas, Florida, California, New Orleans, Louisiana, St. Martin, French West Indies and even Paris, France. 

Mr. Miano is a private pilot. He is familiar with the nuances and unique circumstances of island communities and has his services have been called upon to work on Martha’s Vineyard, Chappaquiddick, Nantucket, Cuttyhunk, Campobello Island, and St Martin, FWI. Mr. Miano has been a summer resident of the Vineyard since 1989.
